Michael is the managing director of leadership strategies - the facilitation company, the organization that manages nfdb.com. Michael is one of the national leaders in the facilitation industry. He is past president of the Southeast Association of Facilitators (seaf.org), a board member of the of the national institute for facilitation (inifac.org) and founder of the The Facilitator Database (FindaFacilitator.com). He is a Certified Master Facilitator (CMF) and one of the first five people certified in North America by the international association of facilitators as a certified professional facilitator. Michael is the primary author of the firm's highly acclaimed course, the effective facilitator, as well as author of the effective consultant, effective teams work!, from management to leadership and what every manager should know about strategic planning. He has been called "the facilitator's facilitator," having trained hundreds of facilitators in the facilitator's methodology, the leadership strategies' approach to facilitation based on the ten fundamental principles and over 90 best practices techniques. Michael was one of the first five u.s. facilitators certified by the international association of facilitators. His dynamic facilitation skills make him a much sought after trainer, facilitator and speaker both in the u.s. and abroad. He has completed international assignments in Bangkok, Glasgow, Hamburg, Hong Kong, London, Milan, Singapore and Sydney. Prior to leadership strategies, Michael spent eight years with Ernst & Young's management consulting group. In the past decade he has facilitated or served as reviewer for over 400 facilitated sessions.

Facilitation Style

"Best facilitator I've ever seen." when you are told that once, you tell your spouse about it, but you don't take it too seriously. But when you hear it from CEOs and executives from such organizations as Bell South, Radio Shack, Shell Oil, and again from top executives of non-profit organizations like United Way of America and Junior Achievement, and from mayors of major metropolitan areas, you begin to think, "well, maybe I'm not too bad at this." I certainly thank my creator for blessing me with a passion to make a difference in people's lives. I also think I've been equipped with strong communication and analytic skills to process information quickly and help people build on one another's ideas to create new solutions to difficult issues. My clients often praise the dynamic energy i bring to a room, and the combination of warmth, humor and focus that helps keep a group engaged and productive long into the afternoon. But they tell me they hire me back because they feel confident that, with my involvement, they will "get there."
